We made a promise. To never forget. To be grateful for their sacrifice. To appreciate all of our freedoms and our rights that they so gallantly fought for.
But we may have broken our promise.
Entitlement, unkindness, connecting with our phones more than our fellow humans, not appreciating the gifts that have been given to us, paid for with their lives.
We are starting to forget.
This Remembrance Day, please take the time to stop, be grateful and remember. The lives lost were not just numbers, they were people. With mothers and fathers, children (some were just kids themselves), best friends, and true loves. They were people who promised to come home to their loved ones but didn't. Because they fought for us.
Remember them. Not just today, but everyday.
